DF: Mandić has been 'creating prerequisites' for Koševo reconstruction for four years

(Patria) - The Cantonal Board of the Democratic Front Sarajevo considers the public statement by the current mayor of Centar, Srđan Mandić, in which he states that by signing the urban planning permit, he has "created prerequisites" for the first phase of the reconstruction of the Olympic Stadium Asim Ferhatović Hase/Koševo, to be hypocritical and disgusting.

"After no concrete progress has been made in four years of his term regarding the stadium reconstruction, it is quite disgusting that the current mayor presents the issuance of the urban planning permit and the "creation of prerequisites" as some kind of achievement, a month before the elections.

Especially considering that the reconstruction project itself was entirely written by the Football Club Sarajevo and submitted as a "gift" to the Municipality, meaning that the executive authority in Centar has nothing to boast about in that regard either. In the information about the issuance of the urban planning permit, the current mayor of Centar states that he will address higher levels of government for financial participation in the project.

If we consider that Mandić, as a high-ranking official of Our Party, has had the entire pyramid of power at his disposal for years, from the City of Sarajevo and the Government of the Sarajevo Canton, through the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina to the Council of Ministers, it remains unclear why only now, a month before the elections, he is "creating prerequisites" and promising the participation of these levels in the stadium reconstruction.

Finally, we want to remind that at the pre-election rally in 2020 organized by
People and Justice in Centar, Kemal Ademović publicly asked Mandić not to start so-called projects a month before the 2024 elections if he became mayor, in order to create the illusion that he had done something, because, as Ademović said at the time, "if you haven't done it by then, don't do it in the last month either".

Although he agreed with Ademović's request at the time and even applauded it, four
years later, Mandić, a month before the elections, hypocritically does exactly that, i.e., a month before the elections he "creates prerequisites", starts major projects and makes promises, thereby only confirming that he has done nothing for 4 years, regarding the stadium as well as numerous other issues important to the citizens," the DF announced.
