Democratic Front: Claims about an Islamised March 1 and Vile Accusations against the DF Are Part of a Campaign against BiH

(Patria) - The Democratic Front most strongly condemns brutal attacks on the fundamental values of the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and among those values are March 1 as the Independence Day of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the lilies as the symbol of the Army of BiH and the defence of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

"Every society that cares about its state and the symbols important for its statehood has a specially developed feeling towards those symbols. Attacks on those symbols in every democratic country in the world are perceived as attacks on the fundamental values of that society and state. The freedom and democracy we live in today in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which are also enjoyed by those who do not love Bosnia and Herzegovina, were won on the principles of March 1 and under the flag with lilies, and that is a historical fact that cannot be denied by anything," say the Democratic Front.

They add that in the background of these attacks, insinuations and brutal attacks on the Democratic Front have almost always appeared recently, using the same rhetoric that seeks to belittle March 1.

"Claiming that March 1 is an Islamised holiday and that the Democratic Front is working to create an ISIL is equally vile, and is not above the level of the inciting propaganda of Smiljko Šagolj and his students. We in the Democratic Front are not at all surprised by the fact that the ruling regime with its associates is the main contractor within that plan. However, the Democratic Front will not stop being a thorn in the side of those who have turned against the political will of the majority of state-loyal citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Finally, determined not to insult anyone, we want to say that the DF will use all legal mechanisms to restrain those who publicly, in the most primitive way, insult the voters of the Democratic Front and the Chairman of the Presidency of BiH Željko Komšić, and all those who politically agree or even disagree with us," conclude the DF.
