Demobilized soldiers of ARBiH Srebrenica and survivors of the "Death March" are walking to Vukovar

This year, for the first time, the Organization of Demobilized Soldiers of ARBiH Srebrenica and survivors of the "Death March" from July 1995, decided to organize and participate together with the Association "Steps of Peace" from Odžak in the "March of Peace" from Srebrenica to Vukovar.

The goal of the Srebrenica – Vukovar March of Peace is to pay tribute to the victims of Vukovar and the victims of the genocide from Srebrenica with the message that evil will never, anywhere, and to anyone happen again.

It is planned that the participants of the "March of Peace" Srebrenica-Odžak-Vukovar will walk about 340 kilometers from Srebrenica to Vukovar in 12 days. The departure of the participants of the "March of Peace" is planned for Tuesday, November 7, 2017, at 10:00 AM from the Potočari Memorial Center.

The arrival of the participants of the "March of Peace" in Vukovar is planned for Saturday, November 18, 2017, and participation in the column of remembrance of Vukovar's victims and paying tribute to Vukovar's victims on the occasion of the 26th anniversary.

The planned walking route for the participants of the March of Peace is: Potočari-Konjević Polje-Liplje-Nezuk- Kalesija-Tojšići-Tuzla-Ormanica-Gradačac-Modriča-Odžak-Prud-Šamac-Slavonski Šamac – Cerna-Andrijaševci-Rokovci-Vinkovci-Nuštar – Vukovar, and 30 to 50 participants will take part.

The idea for organizing the Srebrenica – Vukovar March of Peace stemmed from a moral obligation of the survivors of the genocide from Srebrenica, given that for several years, citizens of Vukovar have been participating in the commemoration of the anniversaries of the genocide against Bosniaks from Srebrenica, coming to pay tribute to the victims of the genocide against Bosniaks in Srebrenica through their participation in the March of Peace and the Cycling Ultramarathon.
