Deminers near Vitez cleared an area of 115,446 m2

(Patria) - The demining team of the Federal Civil Protection Administration "Busovača B" in the municipality of Vitez, using the technical survey method, cleared the task "Šehov gaj - Lazine 5" with an area of 115,446 m2, which is located two kilometers northeast of the center of Vitez and in the immediate vicinity of Donja Dubravica, Križančevo Selo and Tolovići.

In addition to the manual teams "Busovača B" and the sampling demining team, a POEK team (explosive detection dogs) of the Federal Civil Protection Administration was engaged in the task.

During the technical survey, FUCZ demining teams found, removed, and destroyed 20 anti-personnel mines and 12 pieces of unexploded ordnance.

The destruction of the found explosive ordnance was carried out by FUCZ teams for the removal of UXO.

A stream and overgrown vegetation at this location posed a difficulty during demining operations.


The return of the displaced population during the war was carried out in the mentioned settlements. In the immediate vicinity of the task location, there are road communications between the mentioned villages, while the eastern part borders private plots that are intensively used.

Technical survey and removal of mine danger have enabled private landowners and forest owners to use natural resources, safe access, and road communication for the local population that cultivates land immediately adjacent to the risk area.

The handover of the task was carried out between representatives of the Federal Civil Protection Administration and the Mine Action Center (BH MAC), and representatives of the Municipality of Vitez were informed about the completed work and the boundaries of the cleared area.
