Delegation of ZDK at the commemoration of the 32nd anniversary of the formation of the Third Corps

(Patria) - A ceremonial academy marking the 32nd anniversary of the formation of the Third Corps of the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina was held yesterday in Kakanj, with the
participation of a delegation from the Zenica-Doboj Canton led by the President of the Assembly Ćazim Huskić and the Minister for Veterans' Affairs
Adnan Sirovica.

Minister Sirovica addressed the academy, stating that the Third Corps was a strong obstacle to the goals of the aggressor, and its members demonstrated their courage and devotion to the homeland on the defense lines throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina. He emphasized that as a society, we must nurture a culture of remembrance of the war path and exploits of the Third Corps, especially for the sake of young people and future generations.

- Our obligation is not to allow the truth about the heroism of the defenders of Bosnia and Herzegovina to be forgotten, but also to do everything to prevent the denial of facts, distortion of the truth, and attempts to equate the victim and the aggressor. You were a great obstacle to the goals of the aggressor.

Your struggle is magnificent, and these are indisputable facts. That is precisely why we are proud of you - said Minister Sirovica.

He paid special tribute to the martyrs and fallen soldiers who gave their lives in an honorable struggle for the highest civilizational values, independence, and freedom.
He stated that the veteran population will remain a focus of the Government of ZDK and the Ministry for Veterans' Affairs.

- Our obligation is to provide support for the marking of significant dates throughout the canton, and therefore it is our duty and obligation, without any calculations, to care day and night for the families of martyrs and fallen soldiers, war military invalids, and members of veteran populations through various forms of protection and improvement of rights, support and assistance, and thus at least partially repay for everything we have today thanks to them -
said Sirovica.

The Third Corps was established on December 1, 1992, based on a decision of the Staff of the Supreme Command of the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the corps headquarters was in Zenica. The highest war award, the "Golden Lily," was awarded to 277 members, the "Golden Police Badge" to 41, while two brigades - the 303rd and 317th - received the collective recognition of the "Golden Lily."

The Ministry for Veterans' Affairs was the sponsor of the 10th Cantonal Sitting Volleyball Tournament, which was held as part of the celebration of the Statehood Day of BiH, the Day of the Third Corps, and the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, and the tournament was organized by the Sitting Volleyball Club "Kakanj." The winner of the tournament was KSO "Čelik 07," second place was taken by SKISO "Breza 304," while third place went to OKI "Breza."

As a sign of gratitude, the organizers presented a certificate of appreciation to the Minister for Veterans' Affairs Adnan Sirovica.
