Delegation of the Government of Zenica-Doboj Canton visited the Municipality of Kakanj

(Patria) - A delegation of the Government of Zenica-Doboj Canton (ZDK), led by Prime Minister Nezir Pivić and Assembly Speaker Ćazim Huskić, visited the Municipality of Kakanj, where they discussed cooperation between the two levels of government and the implementation of joint projects with Mayor Mirnes Bajtarević and his associates.

Prime Minister Pivić emphasized that the purpose of the visit was to assess needs and coordinate priority projects that will be financed from the Canton's budget in the current and next year.

- Almost the entire Government visited the Municipality of Kakanj today, which is one of the most developed municipalities in our canton.



I want to express my gratitude to Mayor Bajtarević for his promptness, activities, and cooperation with ZDK, as well as with other levels of government, in terms of implementing projects of importance to the residents of Kakanj.

We know that Kakanj is among the stronger municipalities when it comes to the economy - Pivić stated.

He also explained that, among other things, tourism was discussed, and he expressed satisfaction that Kakanj has embarked on a path of development similar to the canton, and that tourism boards of ZDK and the Municipality of Kakanj have been established. He also announced work on promoting tourist potentials.

- We will also work on implementing projects of infrastructural importance for Kakanj. We have outlined projects that we will implement in the future, including the preparation of project documentation and the construction of a health center and an emergency service - Pivić pointed out.

Mayor Bajtarević thanked the Government of ZDK for the projects they supported in previous years, which were successfully implemented, and announced new projects for which they expect support.

- We are particularly interested in the development of transport infrastructure, especially when it comes to regional roads and infrastructure at our Ponijeri picnic area, the only ski resort in ZDK.



We also discussed the protection of natural habitats - primarily Ponijeri, the protected area Tajan, and all the way to Kraljeva Sutjeska. We are aware that we must protect these areas in accordance with international standards - Bajtarević said.

It was emphasized at the meeting that the Government of ZDK is committed to the further development of all local communities and their residents, and that it will continue to invest efforts in key areas - from economy and education to social protection and culture - in order to improve the quality of life for all citizens.

- The Government's commitment is to have the highest quality relations and cooperation with local self-government units, as the majority of citizens' needs are met at this level.

We strive to accommodate as many requests from the field as possible, thereby enabling the balanced development of all municipalities and cities in our canton - Prime Minister Pivić emphasized.
