Delegation of the ZDK Government visited a landslide in the municipality of Maglaj

(Patria) - A delegation of the ZDK Government, led by the Minister for Spatial Planning, Traffic and Communications and Environmental Protection Adnan Šabani, who is also the Commander of the Cantonal Civil Protection Headquarters, visited the vicinity of Novi Šeher in the municipality of Maglaj today.

The delegation also included the Minister for Labour, Social Policy and Refugees Antonio Šimunović, the Minister for Veterans' Affairs Adnan Sirovica, Member of the ZDK Assembly Iva Tadić, and the Director of the Cantonal Civil Protection Administration of ZDK Džavid Aličić.



A large-scale landslide has activated in the Mladoševice area in the past 48 hours, causing severe damage to the regional road R474 Novi Šeher - Prnjavor and a complete traffic disruption for about 200 meters, as well as damage to several residential buildings.

- The scenes on the ground are apocalyptic, and the real causes of the soil instability on such a large scale are yet to be determined. Fortunately, there are no human casualties, and the most important thing right now is to evacuate families from the buildings in the landslide zone.

The Mayor of Maglaj Municipality, Maid Suljaković, and his associates have been on the ground for 24 hours, taking care of the residents, and since the landslide is still active, and unfortunately, new rainfall is expected, it is currently impossible to carry out any remediation work.



Human lives are our priority, and remediation will follow as soon as conditions allow - Minister Šabani stated on this occasion.

According to information from the Civil Protection Headquarters of the Municipality of Maglaj, seven households will be evacuated from the landslide zone, and the delegation of the ZDK Government promised to provide maximum assistance to the local community in overcoming the current situation.

The reopening of the Novi Šeher - Prnjavor regional road currently depends on further ground movement, as well as on the report being prepared by the relevant authorities in this field.
