Delegation of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina participated in the grand opening of the Spring Session of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly

(Patria) - The delegation of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina (PA BiH) to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, led by Chairman Kemal Ademović, and his deputies Marina Pendeš and Obren Petrović, attended the grand opening of the Spring Session of the NATO PA in Dayton, Ohio.

The session was opened with a speech by NATO PA President Marcos Perestrello, after which other high-ranking officials addressed the attendees, including the Chairman of the U.S. Delegation to the NATO PA, Michael R. Turner. He emphasized that this year's session is dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the signing of the General Framework Agreement for Peace in BiH, highlighting the importance of the peace efforts of the United States of America and NATO allies.

As part of the ceremony, a panel discussion titled "Then and Now: Revisiting the Situation in the Balkans in a Post-Dayton World" was held, moderated by the President of the Atlantic Council, Fred Kempe. The panel featured diplomats and experts with extensive experience in the Balkans, including former U.S. Ambassador to Serbia Christopher Hill, Swedish Prime Minister Carl Bildt, British diplomat Karen Pierce, and retired U.S. General Wesley Clark.

During the continuation of the session, high-ranking officials from the region and the international community addressed the attendees, including the Minister of Foreign Affairs of BiH Elmedin Konaković, the Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of Croatia Gordan Grlić Radman, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia Marko Đurić, the High Representative for BiH Christian Schmidt, and the U.S. Ambassador to NATO Matthew Whitaker.

Prior to the grand opening of the session, the PA BiH delegation also participated in a panel within the public forum "Dayton Dialogue: Conversations on Peace and Security in the Balkans," titled "Dayton 30 Years Later: Today's Challenges on the Path to European and Transatlantic Integration." The panel was moderated by former U.S. Ambassador to NATO Kay Bailey Hutchison, and speakers included Minister Konaković, Gordan Grlić Radman, Christian Schmidt, and former U.S. Ambassador to Croatia Peter Galbraith.
