Delegation of the Finance and Administration Committee of the OSCE Secretariat from Vienna Visits the CEC of BiH

(Patria) - A multi-member delegation of the Finance and Administration Committee of the Secretariat of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) from Vienna visited the Central Election Commission (CEC) of BiH today.

During the meeting, the focus was on the activities of the CEC of BiH in conducting the General Elections in Bosnia and Herzegovina, scheduled for 04.10.2026.

Discussions were held on the past and future support provided by the OSCE to the CEC of BiH.

From the multi-year support of the OSCE, the CEC recalls that 2024 was extremely intensive through a series of activities aimed at strengthening the capacities of the election administration and improving the integrity of the electoral process.

The activities included training for election commissions and polling boards, education for election results controllers, development of digital applications, media and field campaigns for voter education, as well as a pilot project on biometric voter identification.

For the 2026 General Elections, new activities are planned that should be implemented with the support of the OSCE Mission to Bosnia and Herzegovina, namely the preparation of a manual for the work of polling boards, which will also include the use of specific election technologies, the preparation of video materials for training on procedures for work at polling stations, which will also include work with specific election technologies.

Furthermore, there is the establishment of an "E-learning" platform for training chairs and deputy chairs of polling boards, training of election commissions of basic electoral units, training of chairs and deputy chairs of polling boards, and an information campaign to motivate young people to engage in positions of operators and support technicians.
