SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The Office of the EU Delegation in Bosnia and Herzegovina confirmed yesterday that one of their employees tested positive for COVID-19.
"The person in question was in a state of exhaustion, shock and extreme anxiety caused by the coronavirus and left the hospital without medical approval. The EU Office in BiH reacted quickly to ensure that he returned under medical supervision. Throughout the time, we maintained constant contact with the competent local authorities, following their instructions and advice. The EU Office in BiH thanks them for their swift and professional response in this case," the EU Delegation stated.
Last night, medical staff of the Clinical Center in Sarajevo transported our employee to the EUFOR base in Butmir. He is now under medical supervision of EUFOR and in isolation until his return to his home country, which is organized for this afternoon. We also wish to thank EUFOR for all their assistance, the EU Office said.
