BiH Delegation to Present Infrastructure and Energy Projects in Vienna

The Council of Ministers of BiH has supported the prepared projects and proposals that the BiH delegation will present at the Western Balkan summit on August 26 and 27, 2015, in Vienna, with a special focus on the construction of cross-border bridges in Gradiška and Svilaj, reports the Bosnian news agency Patria.

Support was given to the BiH delegation to insist at the conference on projects for the construction of the Adriatic-Ionian Highway through Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as the Adriatic-Ionian gas pipeline that would pass through BiH.

At the conference, support is expected for the construction of the 400 KV power line Serbia-BiH-Montenegro. The need was emphasized to prepare energy sector projects in detail in the coming period. The Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BiH, Denis Zvizdić, was authorized to sign a statement that BiH will continue working on the development of strategic energy documents.

The BiH delegation will support the establishment of a Regional Youth Center at the meeting in Vienna.

The Council of Ministers concluded that BiH will respect all international standards and provide the expected level of humanity towards refugees who may eventually arrive in BiH.

The Council of Ministers calls on the European Union and international humanitarian organizations to increase aid to countries most exposed to the refugee wave, primarily Serbia and Macedonia.

The Council of Ministers, for its part, expressed readiness to provide all necessary assistance, in line with its capabilities.

The Coordination Body for Migration Issues was tasked with preparing a comprehensive information that will include a security assessment, as well as an assessment of BiH's capacities in the event of a massive influx of refugees.
