Protest Today: BiH Authorities Must Address the Problem of FEMICIDE Seriously!

(Patria) - The Initiative of Citizens of Mostar most strongly condemns the FEMICIDE committed in Gradačac!

"We call on the competent authorities to act in accordance with the Law, and all authorities in Bosnia and Herzegovina to approach the problem of FEMICIDE and the increasingly frequent occurrence of FEMICIDE in BiH seriously.

A man from Gradačac posted a video of disturbing content on the social network Instagram, telling the public that they would witness a murder live. After that, the video shows him firing a bullet into the forehead of a woman who was severely beaten. As with most things in Bosnia and Herzegovina, something only gets attention when "the damage is already done"!

We are witnessing that the voice of the people often does not bring about any change, but we will agree that FEMICIDE is something that is increasingly taking hold and as such, it is necessary to talk and write about it more.

Femicide in our country is a reality and year after year it is happening more frequently, and as such, it cannot and should not be ignored. The Initiative of Citizens of Mostar believes that "Not one more" woman should be a victim of FEMICIDE. The Initiative asks how many more women, how many more victims, until FEMICIDE is introduced as a separate criminal offense and, as such, perpetrators are adequately punished?

We call on all non-governmental organizations in Mostar, citizens to join us at Španski trg (Mostar) for a peaceful gathering today at 3 PM.
Together let's raise our voices and fight against femicide!", it is stated.
