Handball players gather, matches against Croatia and Russia before EC

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The men's handball national team of Bosnia and Herzegovina will complete the final part of their preparations for participation in the European Championship in Slovakia and Hungary, which begins on January 13, from January 2 to 11, 2022.

Coach Ivica Obrvan has determined the list of players he is counting on from January 2 to 11, and they are: goalkeepers - Benjamin Burić (Flensburg), Admir Ahmetašević (Wisla Plock), Nebojša Bojić (Celje); wingers - Alen Ovčina (Sloboda), Vlado Draganić (Leotar), Enes Keškić (Ludwigshafen), Ibrahim Haseljić (Gorenje), Luka Perić (Borac); pivots - Adin Faljić (PPD Zagreb), Elmir Građan (Eurofarm Pelister), Dragan Šoljić (Ademar Leon); backs - Mirko Herceg (Csurgoi), Dino Hamidović (Gyongyos), Edin Klis (PPD Zagreb), Nikola Prce (Besa Famgas), Mirsad Terzić (Wisla Plock), Josip Perić (Eurofarm Pelister), Milan Vukšić (Izviđač), Marko Lukić (Borac), Ivan Karačić (Maccabi), Dejan Malinović (Balatonfuredi), Aleksandar Milojević (Leotar).

Reserve players: Senjamin Burić (Skjern), Vladimir Vranješ (Brest Meshkov), Vladan Đurđević (Sloga Doboj), Damir Kadrić (Gračanica), Adi Mehmedčehajić (Gračanica), Luka Knežević (Borac), Harun Hodžić (Chambery).

Senjamin Burić and Vladimir Vranješ are on the reserve list due to injuries. In agreement with the professional staff and the medical service of the national team, they will be absent at the beginning of the final part of the preparations in order to dedicate themselves to therapy and recovery, and they will work according to a special plan and program. These two are standard members of our national team and will join the team after their recovery.

Before leaving for Slovakia, the BiH national team will train in Sarajevo from January 2 to 5, when they will travel to Osijek for the Croatia Cup. The BiH team will play against Croatia on January 6 (4:45 PM) and a day later at the same time against Russia.

The return to Sarajevo is planned for January 8, and the flight to Slovakia is three days later. The handball Dragons open the European Championship on January 13 at 8:30 PM with a match against Sweden. Two days later at 6:00 PM, there is a match against the Czech Republic, and on January 17, also at 6:00 PM, the last match of Group E against Spain is scheduled.
