SARAJevo, (Patria) - Three Bratunac victims of war crimes from the period of aggression against BiH will be buried today at the "Veljaci" Memorial Center in Bratunac.
The funeral prayer will be held in "Veljaci" for Rifat (Reš0) Salihović, born in 1949, Šemsa (Hamid) Zukanović, born in 1949, and Munir (Hamed) Tahić, born in 1971.
Former camp detainee Sakib Ahmetović, president of the Bratunac Camp Detainees Association and member of the Organizational Committee for the collective funeral, expressed dissatisfaction with the pace of victim identification, and called on the authorities to take serious steps in the coming period to finalize the identification process and continue the search for war criminals.
"This year we are burying only three victims. Their families were all destroyed, only closer relatives who live abroad remain. They promised to come for the burial in Bratunac. Their bodies were found in the Srebrenica area. We are still searching for about 30 percent of those killed," said Ahmetović.
According to the data of the Camp Detainees Association, more than 700 Bosniaks, men, women, and children of all age groups, were killed in Bratunac in mid-May 1992, at several locations.
Bosniaks of Podrinje commemorate the Days of Remembrance of the Genocide in Bratunac every year in May.
