(Patria) - The second day of Ramadan Bayram is marked as the Day of Martyrs in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Muslims then, by reciting prayers and supplications, visiting cemeteries in BiH, remember the best Bosnian sons who gave their lives in the defense of BiH, and it will be so today.
Bayram is a joy for every Muslim, the entire Muslim community, and the whole world. However, on the second day of Ramadan Bayram, Muslims in BiH remember a large number of those who are no longer among the living, those who lost their lives during the aggression against BiH from 1992 to 1995.
The Day of Martyrs is a day of remembrance for all those who, with their brave feats and nobility in the defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina, rose to become the brightest examples of fighters for justice, truth, and dignity.
The Day of Martyrs in BiH was established by the decision of the Rijaset of the Islamic Community in BiH on January 23, 1995.
The central event, which will be attended by the Deputy Reis-ul-ulema Dr. Enes Ljevaković, will be held at the Kovači Martyrs' Cemetery in Sarajevo starting at 11:00 AM, followed by the recitation of a Khatma-dua for martyrs at the Gazi Husrev-beg Mosque in Sarajevo, starting at 12:15 PM, where an address by the Sarajevo Mufti Dr. Nedžad Grabus is planned.
