(Patria) - The helicopter of the Armed Forces (OS) of BiH that crashed yesterday has been located at the bottom of Jablanica Lake. An operation to retrieve it from the water will be held today.
A diving team from the special unit of the FUP, involved in the search on the order of the BiH Prosecutor's Office, managed to locate the aircraft yesterday after several hours of searching and despite reduced visibility due to murky water.
The Federal Administration for Inspection Affairs announced that, according to responsible persons, there are about 400 liters of fuel in the helicopter.
Therefore, the federal water inspector, with the consent of the prosecutor in charge, verbally ordered the immediate placement of barriers on the water to promptly stop and remediate any potential fuel spillage during the helicopter retrieval.
The BiH Armed Forces helicopter fell into Jablanica Lake yesterday around 11 AM, and it was engaged in a general rehearsal for an exercise with the Civil Protection of the Municipality of Konjic. Fortunately, all four crew members managed to save themselves.
