Day of Martyrs in BiH: Remembering the Sacrifice and Heroes Who Defended the Homeland

(Patria) - The second day of Ramadan Bayram is marked as the Day of Martyrs in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Muslims then, reciting prayers and supplications, visiting cemeteries in BiH, remember the best sons of Bosnia who gave their lives in defense of BiH, and it will be so today.

Bayram is a joy for every Muslim, the entire Muslim community, and the whole world. However, Muslims in BiH on the second day of Ramadan Bayram remember a large number of those who are no longer among the living, those who lost their lives during the aggression against BiH from 1992 to 1995.

The Day of Martyrs is a day of remembrance for all those who, through their brave feats and nobility in the defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina, rose to become the brightest examples of fighters for justice, truth, and dignity.

The Day of Martyrs in BiH was established by a decision of the Riyaset of the Islamic Community in BiH on January 23, 1995.

On the Day of Martyrs, martyrs' cemeteries are visited, visits are paid to martyrs' families, a Khatam is recited for all martyrs, and their noble sacrifice is remembered.
