Day of the Martyrs - Kavazović and Bećirović: Defense of the homeland is a sacred duty!

(Patria) - The second day of Eid is the Day of the Martyrs, and it was marked with a ceremonial program at the Kovači Martyrs' Cemetery, where numerous delegations paid tribute to the first President of the Presidency of BiH, Alija Izetbegović, and all the martyrs of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

"Today we are here again out of a sense of duty and great respect for the sacrifice of our sons who made it for us and for future generations who will, God willing, live in peace with their Bosnian dignity. Even today, 30 years after the collapse of the armed aggression, political attacks on our homeland do not cease. On the contrary, they strengthen almost daily," said the Rais al-Ulama of the Islamic Community in BiH, Husein ef. Kavazović.



He states that similar attacks have always been a prelude to the suffering of all of us who live in this country.

"This very signal should awaken us and make us responsible for defending the peace we have hard-won and for which so many human lives were laid down. Every evil must be stopped, and one must not back down from aggressors. Today, when the hard-won peace is threatened, there is no room for calculations. There is no room for indecision. It is our obligation to protect our common life, peace, state order, and structure," he warned.

From this, as he states, the holiest place in the city, a place of sacrifice and freedom, he called on all people in the country to preserve peace, the common good, and the homeland of BiH, which is wide and spacious for all its sons and daughters, whether they are Muslims, Christians, Jews, or others.

Member of the Presidency of BiH, Denis Bećirović, said that he came here together with the citizens of BiH to express deep gratitude to the martyrs who defended the state of BiH.

- This is also a message for all future generations. The defense of the homeland is a sacred duty, there is no more pressing task than the defense of the state of BiH when it is necessary. We live in very difficult times, in times when independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of the state of BiH are being attacked again. That is why we must be vigilant. The brutal attack on the constitutional order of the state has not yet stopped. We must do everything in our power to preserve the state of BiH, as a state of equal citizens and peoples - said Bećirović.



He emphasized that BiH will defeat separatist forces.

- In February and March, I sent five requests to the Constitutional Court of BiH, and all were accepted. We will defend BiH by political and legal means, and all state bodies must fulfill their obligations. State law enforcement agencies must perform their duties very responsibly. The system exists, the state exists, those who attacked the state will surely be defeated. Those who are responsible for Dodik crossing the border, and who receive a salary, must provide precise answers as to how this happened or resign - concluded Bećirović.
