Day of the Martyrs: Generations to come should understand the past as a lesson and a teaching

(Patria) - The second day of Eid is marked as the Day of the Martyrs, and the program at the central plateau of the Kovači Martyrs' Cemetery in Sarajevo is scheduled to begin at 11 AM.

It is planned for the program to be attended by the reisul-ulema and members of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as other high state officials, representatives of veterans' organizations, and families of the martyrs.

Laying flowers and paying tribute at the grave of the first president of the Presidency of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Alija Izetbegović, is planned for 11:20 AM, reported Mina.

In the religious part of the program, members of the martyrs' families and reisul-ulema Husein-ef. Kavazović will address the attendees.

The Day of the Martyrs in BiH was established by the decision of the Riyaset of the Islamic Community in BiH on January 23, 1995.

Eid is a joy for every Muslim, the entire Muslim community, and the whole world. However, on the second day of Ramadan Eid, Muslims in BiH remember the large number of those who are no longer among the living, those who lost their lives during the aggression against BiH from 1992 to 1995.

The Day of the Martyrs is a day of remembrance for all those who, with their brave feats and nobility in the defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina, rose to become the brightest examples of fighters for justice, truth, and dignity.
