Damir Džumhur achieves greatest success in BiH tennis history with new victory

Damir Džumhur defeated Liam Broady 2:1 (6:3, 2:6, 6:4) in sets and thus qualified for the semi-finals of the ATP 250 tournament in St. Petersburg, writes Patria News Agency.

Damir made two breaks in the third and fifth games to take a 4:1 lead, but the Briton did not give up and reduced the deficit to 4:3. However, the top BiH racquet remained calm and won the next two games to take the first set 6:3.

However, in the second set, at 2:2, Broady made two consecutive breaks, which he confirmed with points on his serve, thus staying in the match by winning the set 6:2.

The deciding set did not start well for our tennis player either. He lost the first game on his serve, and the opponent took a 2:0 lead in games.

But, Džumhur strung together a break and two points on his serve to get back into the match. At 5:4, he took another game on the opponent's serve to win the third set 6:4.

By reaching the semi-finals, Džumhur has secured a place in the TOP 50, which is the greatest success in BiH tennis history.
