Will Džanan Musa get an apartment: How the City Council reduced the initial 100,000 KM to 60,000 KM

In the euphoria that swept the entire country, especially Bihać, Mayor Emdžad Galijašević promised in Ripčo at the welcome for the captain of the cadet basketball team, Džanan Musa, an apartment as a gift.

Those in the know were aware that such a promise was quite difficult to fulfill, but the mayor stuck to his word and still does. The first session of the City Council was awaited to address the Proposal for a Decision on the purchase of an apartment for Džanan Musa.

The Collegium included the mentioned item on the agenda, but before the session itself, a turn of events occurred: the Proposal for a Decision on the purchase of an apartment for Džanan Musa was replaced with a Proposal for a Decision on the allocation of funds from the City of Bihać to the Sports Association of Bihać for the purpose of rewarding top athletes.

After the portal usn.ba published that the Decision on the purchase of an apartment for Džanan Musa was not included on the agenda, journalists from the mayor's office received well-intentioned advice that the information was incorrect.

However, to make things clearer, the Decision on the purchase of an apartment for Džanan Musa was not adopted. What was adopted was the Decision on the allocation of funds from the City of Bihać to the Sports Association of Bihać for the purpose of rewarding top athletes.

The difference between these two decisions is a full 40,000 KM. Also, the 60,000 KM given to the Sports Association is money in the hands of those who have brought sports in Bihać to a low level.

It is now up to the leadership of the Sports Association to draft a rulebook on the criteria for awarding the mentioned 60,000 KM and whether, according to those criteria, Musa will be the only one who meets the conditions.

The information that the City of Bihać did not gift an apartment to the captain of the basketball team is correct, and the information that the City Council did not adopt the Decision on the purchase of an apartment for Džanan Musa is also correct.

Whether Musa will ultimately receive the promised apartment or the money for such an apartment remains to be seen, writes usn.ba.
