Guardians of Bosnia Discussed Strengthening BiH's Security and Defense Capabilities with Komšić

(Patria) - Representatives of the Guardians of Bosnia Association held a meeting with the BiH Presidency Chairman
Željko Komšić, and exchanged views on expectations and future steps aimed at protecting the sovereignty of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the integrity of its institutions.

"The Guardians expressed gratitude for Komšić's effort to not be an instrument of foreign interests, neighboring countries, or domestic political actors working against BiH's interests through his policies, and for which he himself endures a number of unpleasantries," the statement said.

It was concluded that the derogation of BiH institutions currently occurring under the current government is unacceptable and dangerous, and that a subservient policy, which is increasingly moving away from state and European principles, is leading us to an abyss.

"Therefore, it is necessary to concretely undertake all actions in response to gross violations of the Constitution, both the state one and that of the Federation. It is inadmissible for the Rules of Procedure in the House of Representatives of the Parliament of the Federation of BiH to be amended by a majority conclusion, bypassing all procedures. Such a procedure is unimaginable in any democratic country, let alone in one aspiring to membership in the European Union. In terms of strengthening BiH and its EU path, it is important to emphasize that the rulings Kovačević, Sejdić-Finci, Pudarić, Pilav, and Zornić must be implemented. They are key to our European path and transformation into a normal civic state," the statement from the Guardians of Bosnia Association reads.

Furthermore, the Guardians of Bosnia emphatically stressed that the patriots of BiH, led by the Guardians of Bosnia Association, will never accept amendments to the Election Law that violate the Constitution. Any attempt to create a 'floating third entity' is nothing but unacceptable to the patriots of our homeland. State policy is not conducted by appeasing Dodik and Čović, but by protecting BiH's interests.

"In this regard, and in the context of increasingly strong war rhetoric, both in BiH and throughout Europe, the readiness of BiH for such circumstances was also discussed. The need to establish a reserve component of the BiH Armed Forces was expressed, and such ideas would have to be part of carefully planned actions, all in order to raise the security situation to a higher level," it was stated during the meeting, according to the statement.

The Guardians of Bosnia also discussed with Komšić the potential introduction of mandatory military service in BiH, in line with what Croatia is currently doing, while Serbia is arming itself more and more seriously. Also, in line with the increasingly difficult security situation, the necessity of establishing a secondary police school was discussed, in order to train police cadres in BiH more adequately and thoroughly.
