Čović met with Chinese President Xi Jinping

Chairman of the BiH Presidency Dragan Čović met in Beijing with President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping, reports the Patria News Agency.

Čović thanked President Jinping for the invitation to participate in marking this significant anniversary, and expressed satisfaction with the upward trend of political relations between BiH and China, as well as the fact that there are no open issues between the two countries. The relations between the People's Republic of China and Bosnia and Herzegovina represent an example of true friendly relations, and exceptional cooperation in all areas of joint action, which is constantly improving.

Čović also highlighted the importance of the People's Republic of China's interest in cooperation within the "One Belt - One Road" initiative, as an important foundation for the further development of economic and all other relations between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the People's Republic of China. He emphasized support for further improvement of joint infrastructure and energy projects, as well as an increase in Chinese direct investments in the economy of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

President Xi Jinping thanked Čović for participating in this significant anniversary, and expressed commitment to the further development and improvement of mutual relations. He pointed out that numerous signed agreements from various fields provide a favorable basis for deepening cooperation, and that the Chinese side will continue to encourage Chinese investors to invest in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Čović thanked for the expressed support and friendly words, and invited the President of the People's Republic of China to visit Bosnia and Herzegovina soon, which President Jinping accepted.
