Čović with Union: Not the Time for Hasty Solutions

(Patria) - Chairman of the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina and President of the Croatian Democratic Union of Bosnia and Herzegovina Dragan Čović today held a meeting at the HDZ BiH headquarters with the president and vice-president of the Union of Independent Trade Unions of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Selvedin Šatorović, Saša Živković and Fikret Alić.

The gathered officials exchanged information on the current state of the coronavirus in Bosnia and Herzegovina, with special emphasis on the negative consequences for the economy, as well as growing concern about jobs and workers' rights across the country. Through a detailed analysis of the situation, the union representatives informed Čović about the leading challenges, highlighting fears of the erosion of workers' rights and mass layoffs, which pose a real threat to the socio-economic situation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

On that occasion, Čović, together with his interlocutors, emphasized the need to create constructive solutions with all relevant participants, stressing that now is not the time for hasty solutions and that, together with experts, solutions must be created that will respond readily and appropriately to the growing challenges in multiple sectors in order to urgently and as a priority protect jobs, workers' rights and socio-economic stability.
