Čović expects a solution by March 31, Izetbegović awaits Komšić

Bakir Izetbegović, SDA Deputy Chairman, and Dragan Čović, HDZ BiH leader, discussed the problems that occurred during the formation of government, specifically the FBiH Government, writes the news agency Patria.

Čović stated that if the FBiH Government and the Council of Ministers are not formed by Tuesday, it can be announced that the coalition does not exist.

- We should not go beyond the third month without having an executive authority. There is clearly a communication problem. Izetbegović will meet with Željko Komšić, and later we will all talk amongst ourselves to resolve the fabricated issues regarding national structure. Someone is evidently artificially introducing this into the entire process to continue the government blockade until the third month - Čović said.

He further added that everyone can declare themselves as they wish when it comes to national structures and whether they belong to one of the constituent peoples or not, as in this case.

- I would not speculate on that, and each party, before signing the names of the Federal Government members by the President and Vice-President of the Federation, if there was anything contentious, should have spoken up about who constitutes the structure of that government, instead of coming to the House of Representatives and raising that issue. HDZ BiH presented its ministers to the public on Monday to the President of FBiH and the future Chairman of the Council of Ministers - Čović said, adding that HDZ still maintains its position that it will propose five Croats and one Serb for the FBiH Government.

Bakir Izetbegović stated that he met with Čović and that they talked.

- I hope to meet with Komšić today, or possibly tomorrow, and that we will start resolving this situation we have with the formation of the Council of Ministers and the Federal Government. I cannot provide details until this matter is definitively concluded – Izetbegović said.

He added that he discussed something with Čović that is on the path to a solution if Komšić accepts it.

He said that one of the possibilities for resolving the crisis is for Milan Mandilović to declare himself as 'others' and not as a Serb, as he declared himself in the elections.
