Čović: HNK should be a priority for any form of humanitarian aid from all peoples in BiH

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Following a call sent to the Embassy of the Russian Federation in BiH for the Russian military-medical convoy to come to Mostar, the HDZ BiH, whose president is Dragan Čović, also responded and issued an invitation.

The statement notes that numerous embassies were contacted, but also that the vast majority of embassies offered assistance in combating the spread of the virus in our homeland.

"Based on established facts and the positive experience transferred from the University Clinical Center Banja Luka, the arrival of the same Russian humanitarian-medical aid convoy was requested for the University Clinical Hospital Mostar, which was in Bosnia and Herzegovina last week. In these demanding circumstances and efforts, the Chairman of the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH and President of HDZ BiH, Dragan Čović, thanks everyone who is willing to give and is contributing to both health and all other institutions and establishments in Bosnia and Herzegovina that are directly involved in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic, whether in Sarajevo, Banja Luka, Mostar, or any other environment.

Health challenges, social sensitivity, the difficult economic situation, and security challenges that our homeland Bosnia and Herzegovina is currently facing must not and should not be a determination for anyone to incite unnecessary political conflicts, based on deceptions and lies, which we are witnessing in this specific case," say HDZ BiH.

They claim it is a diversion from "real scandals, such as the recent non-transparent procurement of ventilators with budget funds."

"The Herzegovina-Neretva Canton, as one of the cantons most affected by the coronavirus, should be a priority for any form of humanitarian aid from all peoples in Bosnia and Herzegovina, looking at the real needs of this canton, regardless of the national structure of the population in this situation. The coronavirus is a common enemy for all of us, and any politicization is unacceptable; human lives are at stake, and any offered help is always welcome," concluded HDZ BiH.
