SARAJevo, (Patria) - Most parliaments in Europe have faced our current problem. Governments across the Old Continent have announced urgent economic packages, which involved legislative changes that could only be achieved by holding parliamentary sessions, which at the time contradicted measures for protection and suppression of the virus. However, almost all parliaments have managed to find a way out of the parliamentary blockade, because the economy and the population cannot wait, writes the federal MP and leader of the Civic Alliance, Nihad Čolpa, on Facebook.
"Just as was the case in the EU, the Parliament of FBiH should also find a way out of the parliamentary blockade. The Government of FBiH announces measures for the economy, how will they be adopted without the legislative authority? A rebalance of the budget will certainly be needed, how will the rebalance be adopted without the Parliament of FBiH? The decision of the Crisis Staff of KS on banning gatherings of more than 20 people was likely made in accordance with expert recommendations, but it should have also been made in coordination with the leaderships of the Parliament of FBiH and the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH. We live in a time when decisions must be made," Čolpa stated, commenting on the cancellation of the scheduled session of the House of Representatives of FBiH.
Čolpa believes that "the Parliament of FBiH needs to be urgently made functional to perform its main functions, while respecting the level of protection for its members and staff".
"I am of the opinion that the economy and citizens need the Parliament of FBiH more than ever before," Čolpa concluded.
