Čolić wrote to the minister: Did you talk about the discrimination of Bosniak children in RS?

The coordinator of instructional classes in Nova Kasaba for students of Bosniak nationality, Nihada Čolić, sent a letter to the Minister of Education and Culture of RS, Dane Malešević, regarding her participation in the Conference "Citizenship and Civic Education in Southeast Europe", reports the BH News Agency Patria.

Given that the mentioned conference was dedicated to civic education, i.e., education for democracy and human rights, and the promotion of democratic values, I sincerely hope that you informed the attendees at the conference about the following:

- that students from Konjević Polje do not attend regular classes with their peers, because their fundamental rights have been taken away, rights they have both as children and as equal citizens of our only Bosnia and Herzegovina
- that to this day, and your term has been ongoing for a long time, you have not invited the parents of these children for any conversation, nor have you expressed interest in dialogue and an attempt to resolve this problem
- that you have not informed yourself about the conditions in which the students from Konjević Polje acquired new knowledge, developed skills, and should have, in the spirit of the conference in which you participated, together with their teachers, dealt with issues of democracy and democratic values
- that you have never, and it is the professional obligation of every educator, talked to these students, and they would have been delighted by their desire to learn, play, and socialize with all their peers
- that you have never asked to this day how these children will proceed, can we together find a way to provide these children with the future they deserve, a bright and promising one
- that you do not know how these students have achieved exceptional results today, after a year and a half of attending instructional classes, and I will provide you with an evaluation of the students' current knowledge, after attending classes in Konjević Polje, in writing
- that you do not know how you will dedicate yourself to education for democracy and human rights in the coming period, because there has been, is not, and will not be any, as long as all children do not have equal rights and fair education in their schools

Dear Minister, for the conference you attended, it would have been enough for you to say only the above, and for the next one, I will inform you in detail about what the parents and students from Konjević Polje would like you to convey to the attendees, i.e., what they consider democratic education and how little goodwill and respect for fundamental human rights are needed for such education, as well as respect for the principles that every minister, and especially the minister of education, must adhere to.

Čolić concluded the letter by stating that she is available to the minister for additional suggestions in order to "enable our students from Konjević Polje, who unfortunately do not attend regular classes, to have a democratic education."
