Members of the Independent Board of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina visit the DKPT

(Patria) - The Directorate for Coordination of Police Bodies of Bosnia and Herzegovina today hosted a working visit by members of the Independent Board of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH. The Director of the Directorate, Enes Karić, together with his deputies Đuro Knežević and Goran Amidžić, received the board representatives Mate Miletić, Enes Bezdrob and Milan Stanić.

The visit was carried out as part of the regular activities of the Independent Board aimed at overseeing and improving the work of police agencies in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Director Karić provided the members of the Independent Board with a detailed overview of the current situation and processes within the Directorate. Special emphasis was placed on ongoing activities aimed at strengthening institutional capacities, including continuous training programs, equipment procurement, and professional development of staff.

Within the discussion, emphasis was also placed on activities aimed at improving communication, coordination and cooperation between police bodies in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as at the international level, in accordance with the legal competencies of the Directorate.

Furthermore, the members of the Independent Board supported the initiative for amendments to the Law on Police Officials. It was highlighted that this reform will be of key importance for addressing the upcoming large outflow of personnel expected in the period 2025-2026. During the conversation, they expressed full support for the further work of the Directorate and emphasized the importance of continuing the planned activities outlined in the Directorate's strategic documents.

The Directorate will continue to work on developing its capacities and strengthening cooperation with police and other competent institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina and beyond in the coming period.
