Sarajevo Celebrates 30 Years of 'Fantomi', Komšić: 'You are an inspiration to society'

(Patria) - Member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Željko Komšić attended the Ceremonial Academy last night on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the formation of the Volleyball Club of Persons with Disabilities "Fantomi".

At the event, held in Sarajevo's Vijećnica, Komšić gave a fitting speech, stating that the Volleyball Club of Persons with Disabilities "Fantomi" has become a symbol of sports success, perseverance, dignity, and pride of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

- Three decades of existence are not just a jubilee of a sports collective. It is a story about people who have shown that the greatest victories are not measured only by medals and trophies, but by strength of character, self-belief, and the readiness to never give up.

You and your club "Fantomi" have represented Bosnia and Herzegovina throughout Europe and the world over all these years. Your successes on the sports fields have made the flag of our country be raised with respect and admiration, and the anthem of Bosnia and Herzegovina be heard with pride.

However, what makes you special is not just the fact that you are the most decorated club in Bosnia and Herzegovina and multiple European champions. You are special because you have shown generations of young people that obstacles are not insurmountable, that courage has no limits, and that unity is the strength that overcomes all challenges.

You are an inspiration to society. You remind us how important it is to build a community of equal opportunities, a community of respect, solidarity, and human dignity. That is why tonight we are not just celebrating sports results. We are celebrating people. We are celebrating perseverance, discipline, friendship, and love for the homeland - said Komšić.

On behalf of the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina and in my own name, I congratulate the players, coaches, club management, founders, their families, and all friends of the "Fantomi" club on the successes they have achieved.

- Thank you for being the best ambassadors of our country during these 30 years. I wish that the years ahead bring you good health, peace, and happiness to your families.

I am convinced that you will continue to be the pride of Bosnia and Herzegovina, continuing to achieve new successes and victories on sports fields across Europe and the world - Komšić stated.
