(Patria) - Due to the increased danger of snow and icicles falling from the roofs of residential and commercial buildings, the Cantonal Civil Protection Administration of KS points to the necessity of increased caution.
Citizens are advised to avoid moving and staying in the immediate vicinity of buildings from whose canopies snow or ice may fall.
"Given that, according to the Law on Municipal Cleanliness of KS, legal entities entrusted with the management of buildings (managers) are responsible for removing snow, ice, and icicles from building roofs, we hereby warn and call on them to immediately and without delay proceed with the safe removal of snow and ice from the roofs and canopies of buildings.
We also warn users of commercial buildings, as well as citizens, to also immediately proceed with the safe removal of snow and icicles from the roofs and canopies of buildings or facilities they use.
The removal of snow, ice, and icicles from building roofs must be carried out after prior warning to passers-by of the danger, with the condition that the overhead network (cables of various types of networks) must not be damaged during the work, and at the same time, the removed snow must be cleared so as not to obstruct traffic on the roadway and pedestrian paths," stated the KUCZ.
They also reminded legal and natural persons that fines are prescribed by law for violations.
