Clean River Bosna: Action Group Teams Established in Visoko and Ilijaš

(Patria) - Representatives of the Action Group "For a Cleaner River Bosna Basin" supported the establishment of Action Group Teams in Visoko and Ilijaš. Along with representatives of local administrations, utility companies, civil protection, schools, communal inspection, environmental and fishing associations, volunteer fire departments, and active local communities, joint work has begun on strengthening ecological and tourism activities in local communities.

The support for creating a better ecological, tourist, and social environment in local communities is a goal that the Action Group Teams will strive for. The diverse activities of the Teams will encourage the population and institutions to utilize untapped human and technical resources to improve the overall environment, which is important for the population and for future tourists.

Previously, identical or similar activities were carried out in the cities and municipalities of Zenica, Zavidovići, Kakanj, Tešanj, and Maglaj.

"By the end of the year, planned activities include eco-campaigns, filming an eco-tourism film, the "Responsible Fisherman" campaign with the arrangement and declaration of the most well-maintained fishing grounds in the river valley, promotion of an application for reporting illegal dumps, engaging representatives of the diaspora to participate in the activities of the Action Group Teams, selection and promotion of cultural and tourist events, and applying for a project to install eco-video surveillance in local communities.

The Action Group "For a Cleaner River Bosna Basin" consists of partner local communities Ilidža, Centar Sarajevo, Ilijaš, Visoko, Kakanj, Zenica, Žepče, Zavidovići, Maglaj, Tešanj, Doboj Jug, Doboj, Modriča, Šamac, the Institute for Health and Food Safety Zenica, the Federal Civil Protection Administration, the Republican Civil Protection Administration of the RS, and the ROTOR organization for tourism development of the region.
