Facts about the national team: Sredojević the eternal assistant, Hadžibegić the only one to resign

Public interest in the selection of the new coach of the BiH national team, which according to the Football Association of BiH should be chosen by New Year, is not subsiding, writes the news agency Patria.

The top favorite of both fans and the Association is the renowned BiH expert Vahid Halilhodžić, who will arrive in BiH next week, when negotiations will be held regarding the possibility of him taking over the BiH A team.

Interesting facts about coaches, as well as the situation in the Association throughout history, were shared on his Facebook profile by Emir Delić, a well-known sports journalist working for Al Jazeera, which Patria is relaying. Also, as Delić emphasized, the top favorite for the coach position has never been chosen for that role.

- Vahid Halilhodžić is a serious candidate for the BiH coach for the first time

- Faruk Hadžibegić is the only BiH coach who resigned from his position

- Fuad Muzurović is the only one who led the national team on two occasions

- Blaž Slišković and Safet Sušić are the only ones who led the national team in two qualifying cycles

- Blaž Slišković is the only one who was an assistant coach and the national team coach

- Meho Kodro coached BiH in two matches

- Denijal Pirić coached BiH in one match

- Ćiro Blažević took over BiH on his second attempt (his selection was prevented by politics the first time after Mišo Smajlović left)

- Borče Sredojević is the only coach who was an assistant to four coaches (Muzurović, Kodro, Blažević, Sušić)
