
(Patria) - The President of the Central Election Commission (CEC) of BiH, Jovan Kalaba, and Frans Gunink, Director of "Smartmatic BH" d.o.o., the lead bidder, signed a contract today for the procurement of a system for biometric voter identification and scanning of ballots at polling stations.
The total value of the contract, including VAT and discount, amounts to 74,527,455.84 KM.
The subject of the signed contract is the procurement of a system for biometric voter identification and scanning of ballots at polling stations, including all necessary components: equipment, software, consumables, technical support, printing of ballots, storage, and distribution to the competent election bodies, with the aim of ensuring secure, transparent, and efficient conduct of elections in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The implementation of the contract will take place in phases:
‣ Phase A relates to the delivery of electronic equipment and user training;
‣ Phase B relates to transport services;
‣ Phase C relates to the printing and packaging of ballots.
Among other things, the contract stipulates the obligation of the contractor to transfer all copyrights and source code for all software specifically developed or adapted for the needs of this project to the exclusive and permanent ownership of the Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
