Congratulations on the Day of the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina: We remember the sacrifice of our heroes for the defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina

(Patria) - On the occasion of the 34th anniversary of the formation of the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, congratulations have been received by demobilized soldiers, families of martyrs and fallen soldiers, and recipients of war decorations.

Minister of Defense of BiH Zukan Helez sent congratulations via social networks, and is on an official trip to the United States of America.

"To the esteemed families of martyrs and fallen soldiers, war veterans, demobilized soldiers, recipients of war decorations, and all citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina, I extend sincere congratulations on the Day of the honorable Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

On this significant date, we remember the courage, determination, and selfless sacrifice of all those who stood in defense of our homeland in the most difficult moments of its history. The Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina was a symbol of resistance, unity, and the fight for freedom, independence, and dignity of all its citizens.

We especially express deep respect to the families of martyrs, whose sacrifice is permanently woven into the foundations of our state. Their pain and pride oblige us to preserve the truth and nurture a culture of remembrance.

Today, as we build a secure and prosperous Bosnia and Herzegovina, it is our duty to continue strengthening defense institutions, nurturing the values on which the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina was founded, and working to preserve peace and stability.
May the Day of the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina be a reminder of our shared responsibility to preserve the freedom, unity, and sovereignty of our homeland. Once again, I congratulate all citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina on the Day of the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina," stated Helez.

A congratulatory message was also sent by the President of the Party of Democratic Action, Bakir Izetbegović.

"To all members of the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, members of the families of martyrs and fallen soldiers, war veterans, demobilized soldiers, veterans, and all patriots of Bosnia and Herzegovina, I extend sincere congratulations on the occasion of April 15th, the Day of the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

On this day, we remember the honorable and heroic struggle of the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which was born from the people and stood in defense of the state, its independence, territorial integrity, and the freedom of its citizens in the most difficult times.

With special reverence, we pay tribute to the martyrs and fallen soldiers who laid down their lives for the freedom of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as to the war veterans and all soldiers who made immense sacrifices in the defense of their homeland.

It is the duty of all of us to preserve the truth about the defensive-liberation and anti-fascist struggle of the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and to preserve for future generations the achievements and values for which its members fought," said Izetbegović.

The Speaker of the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH, Kemal Ademović, stated that the anniversary reminds us of the strength, courage, and determination of the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina – an army that emerged from the people, defended the people, and preserved the state.

"The Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, with the support of the police, defended the state and created preconditions for lasting peace. This was not just a military struggle – it was a struggle for survival, for dignity, and for the right to live freely in our country.

Today, with deep respect and responsibility, we remember the sacrifice of our heroes who defended the independence, sovereignty, and fundamental values of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Their courage and determination remain a permanent guide for generations to come.

The commemoration of the Day of the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina is not just a reminder of the past – it is a pledge for the future. A pledge that we will preserve the truth, nurture a culture of remembrance, and build a society based on the values for which our soldiers fought. May there be eternal glory and thanks to all defenders of Bosnia and Herzegovina."
