Čerkez: We won the first half, the elderly and children will soon be able to go out

(Patria) - Member of the Crisis Staff of the Federal Ministry of Health and Assistant Minister for Public Health Goran Čerkez said that we have completely managed to control the epidemic.

„In the coming period, we discussed the relaxation of measures. Relaxing measures does not mean returning to the old way of life. We will still live under restrictions for a long time. We will still wear masks and gloves for a long time. However, the measures we are planning will slightly ease the lives of citizens. The coronavirus has changed the lives of all people in the world, including us in BiH,“ said Čerkez.

Specifically, they are considering enabling people of the third age to go out as soon as possible.

„Of course, we will determine when they can go out and for how long. And for younger people as well. We will introduce all measures for 15 days, so we can monitor them,“ said Čerkez.

He noted that the epidemic is far from over and we must continuously monitor the situation in order to be able to react.

He also said that they are considering the return or opening of small businesses.

„We have certain visions, plans, and as early as next week we will propose the removal of certain restrictions and a return to a somewhat more normal life. I especially thank people of the third age and thank the parents who conscientiously respected our measures, because the first half was won thanks to the citizens. I hope that we will continue to listen to each other and that we will win together,“ said Čerkez.

Speaking about the reorganization of the health system in the Sarajevo Canton, he said that this is not within the jurisdiction of the Federal Ministry of Health and that the Clinical Center of the University of Sarajevo will continue to provide services as before.
„All serious patients will have service at the Clinical Center of the University of Sarajevo,“ said Čerkez.
