Cenić: When I see who all is defending the Republika Srpska, it's clear to me there is no hope for it

Svetlana Cenić, a prominent analyst from Banja Luka, sharply criticized a petition organized in Belgrade by a group of local public figures highlighting the importance of preserving the Republika Srpska, reports the Bosnian news agency Patria (NAP).

More than 150 public figures and leaders of patriotic political organizations in Serbia signed a petition appealing to officials and party leaders in the Republika Srpska to work on its preservation, Srna reported.

- When I see this petition of concerned intellectuals scattered across Belgrade, all worrying about the Republika Srpska, it first becomes clear to me that there is no hope for it, because such patriots are sucking out even its last asset – Cenić criticized on her Facebook profile, Patria reports.

The organizers of the petition called on politicians in the Republika Srpska to “refrain from participating in any level of government to the detriment of the Serbian people.”

The signatories of the appeal listed four demands from which they said there should be no deviation and called on all Serbian political actors to adhere to them. The first states that the constitutional status of the Republika Srpska, established in Dayton in 1995, must not be changed at any cost to the detriment of Serbian national interests.

The appeal states that the existing competencies of the Republika Srpska, significantly reduced by unconstitutional decisions of the High Representative, must not be further diminished for the sake of strengthening and expanding the competencies of the central authorities of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Sarajevo.

- Everything should be done to restore the Dayton competencies of the Republika Srpska, and first, the abolition of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina as a criminal court that derogates the jurisdiction of the judiciary in both entities should be sought - the appeal states, among other things.

Among the signatories of the petition are academics Kosta Čavoški, Vasilije Krestić, Rajko Petrov Nogo, Gojko Đogo and Dragan Nedeljković, DSS president Sanda Rašković Ivić, SRS president Vojislav Šešelj and member of the “Dveri” movement leadership Boško Obradović and others, Patria reports.
