Čaršijska Mosque in Prijedor targeted by vandals again, SDA calls on authorities to react

(Patria) - On the night of January 13-14, Islamic Community facilities were again targeted by a vandal attack, and this time it was the Čaršijska Mosque in Prijedor.

Also, a few days ago, a window was broken on the building in front of the imam's apartment, while a religious official was attacked in December last year.

The Provisional Committee of the Regional Board SDA Bosanska Krajina-Prijedor emphasizes that they expect the competent institutions of Republika Srpska, which are responsible for everyone's safety, to invest the necessary efforts in shedding light on this case.

"We expect that severe sanctions against the perpetrators will prevent the recurrence of such vandal attacks," the SDA stated.

They emphasize that such attacks are a very symbolic message to returnees in the Republika Srpska entity, which again instills insecurity and fear, and calls into question the ability of the MUP RS to protect this category of people in BiH.

"We call on the Mayor of Prijedor, Slobodan Javor, to, together with the Prijedor Security Forum, condemn these attacks on religious buildings and returnees," stated the Provisional Committee of the Regional Board SDA Bosanska Krajina-Prijedor.
