Čapljina: FUCZ removed 19 cluster munitions

(Patria) - At the Duboka draga location in the settlement of Jasenica, 10 km south of Čapljina, a demining team of the Federal Civil Protection Administration (FUCZ) from Mostar has completed the task of removing cluster munitions.

Out of the total task area of 67,729 m 2, 43,835 m 2 were cleared, and 23,894 m 2 were technically surveyed. During the work, 19 cluster munitions MK-1 were found and destroyed by the FUCZ team for the destruction of UXO from Mostar.

"By removing these cluster munitions, livestock farmers will have a safe environment and will be able to graze their cattle, and households will be able to grow helichrysum, the most significant agricultural activity in this local community. By completing this task, FUCZ has contributed to fulfilling Bosnia and Herzegovina's obligations under the convention on cluster munitions," the FUCZ announced.
