Will Čampara reinstate Lukač as head of FUP today?

A session of the FBiH Government is underway, and Fadil Novalić, Prime Minister of FBiH, at the urging and under pressure from the Minister of FMUP, Aljoša Čampara, has included a Proposal for a Decision on the appointment of the Director of the Federal Police Administration as the 8th item on the agenda, the Patria News Agency has learned.

Precisely because of this, ministers from the Democratic Front abstained from adopting the agenda, while HDZ ministers supported it. It seems that Čampara will succeed, despite numerous proven irregularities during the tender procedure, and the fact that he is nearing retirement age, in appointing Dragan Lukač to the position of FUP Director.

A decision on the temporary appointment of Lukač to the director's position will be made at the Government session. The agenda item is defined as Information on the implementation of the Decision of the Municipal Court in Sarajevo, with a Proposal for a Decision.

Incidentally, it is widely known that Dragan Lukač meets all the conditions for retirement at the end of this month, so the (un)known reason why Aljoša Čampara, Minister of Internal Affairs of FBiH, is so insistent on Lukač being appointed to the director's position is unclear.

Fadil Novalić, Prime Minister of FBiH, has also revoked the power of attorney of the lawyer who represented the FBiH Government in the dispute against Lukač, and no other lawyer has been engaged. For now, it is uncertain what the Court's decision will be, but if the representative of the FBiH Government does not appear at the hearing, the verdict will be clear.

However, all decisions will be reviewed by the Security Commission of the Federal Parliament, with a special emphasis on the conduct of the Independent Board and its president Sead Selaman, who ignored the findings of the FBiH Office for Legislation and, despite all the evidence that he met the conditions for retirement and that the tender procedure should have been conducted according to the new Law on Internal Affairs, still appointed Lukač to the position of FUP Director.
