Turbulent day in the FBiH Parliament, Čović will do everything to have Marin Vukoja elected as a Constitutional Court judge

Two sessions of the House of Representatives of the FBiH Parliament will be held today. One extraordinary and one regular.

At the extraordinary session, representatives will vote on filling two vacant positions in the Committee for Election and Appointment of the House of Representatives of the FBiH Parliament, which became vacant after the resignations of Feliks Vidović and Antonio Sesar from HDZ BiH. New representatives will also take their mandates and swear the oath at the regular session today. These are mandates from NIP and SDP following the resignations of Adnan Delić and Jasna Duraković, a replacement mandate for Naša stranka instead of Damir Arnaut, and two from HDZ.

Also, to ensure the necessary majority for certain appointments, a proposal has been prepared to remove Dajana Čolić (DF) and Edina Gabela (Stranka za BiH) from the Committee. Elzina Pirić (PDA) and one representative from HDZ 1990 will join the Committee instead.

Although the Rules of Procedure of the House of Representatives of the FBiH Parliament stipulate that working bodies are filled in accordance with the mandates won, the Rules have been violated in this case.

For example, HDZ, with 15 mandates, will have three members on the Committee, while SDP, also with 15 mandates, will have two.

SDA, which has 26 mandates and is not part of the government, has only one member.

A member from HDZ 1990 is being added to the committee, despite them having only three mandates. Formally, HDZ 1990 is not part of the coalition majority, but they have the support of HDZ BiH on some key issues.

After the appointment and replacement of committee members, a committee session should be held to determine the proposals for appointments.

Thus, it is expected that they will determine the final proposal for the appointment of a judge of the Constitutional Court of BiH. HDZ BiH insists that only Marin Vukoja's name be submitted to the Parliament, while some representatives from SDP are requesting the entire list so that the Parliament can make a decision.

However, Dragan Čović does not want to take risks, so a plan has been devised to change the committee members to ensure they have a sufficient majority to outvote those who are requesting the entire list. Among them are Damir Mašić and Aner Žuljević from SDP.

It is not yet known whether the change in the Parliament's leadership, with Arnel Isak being appointed instead of Edina Gabela, will also be on the agenda today.

It will be a turbulent day on the political scene.
