Paris Olympics budget stands at 4.4 billion euros

(Patria) - The budget for the Paris Olympic Games is 4.4 billion euros, organizers of the biggest sports event announced.

For Paris 2024, 154 million euros have also been set aside for potential unforeseen situations.

The initial budget from last year has been minimally adjusted – with only 17 million euros in additional expenses.

However, organizers stated that it is a "fragile balance" and that they will have to be careful with spending until the end.

The reserve has been reduced by 121 million euros in the meantime, and this money will be spent on building temporary infrastructure, additional stands, energy costs, as well as the artistic part of the Games' opening ceremony, i.e., the part related to the Seine River.

Organizers have been strictly monitoring costs so far, and the next spending report will be presented in three to four months.

The Paris Olympic Games begin on July 26, 2024.
