British Parliamentarians: Call for urgent action against Milorad Dodik's secessionist activities

(Patria) - The BH UK Network organization wrote to the Government of Great Britain regarding the unconstitutional and anti-Dayton moves of the authorities in the RS entity, and after their letter, several members of the British parliament requested a reaction from Foreign Secretary David Lammy.

Among them is Labour MP Tahir Ali, who asked Lammy for a reaction due to such moves by the authorities in the RS, primarily by the entity's president, Milorad Dodik.

"I call for urgent action against Milorad Dodik's secessionist activities in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Dodik and members of his family have already been sanctioned by Great Britain and the United States due to destabilizing activities. Nevertheless, Dodik's latest actions represent the greatest threat to Bosnia and Herzegovina since the signing of the Dayton Peace Agreement," reads the letter sent to Lammy by Ali.

He added that Dodik instructed members of his party to leave state institutions and initiated the process of banning the operation of several BiH institutions in the territory of the RS entity.

"These actions directly violate and threaten the Dayton Peace Agreement, which has ensured peace in the country for the last thirty years," Ali's message stated.

He also stated that the British government "must ensure that the Dayton Peace Agreement remains in force."

"Continued violation of the agreement risks destabilizing the entire region. I call on the Government to condemn Mr. Dodik's reckless behavior and reaffirm its support for the territorial integrity of Bosnia and Herzegovina," Ali urged.

Following the letter from BH UK Network, Alicia Kearns and Fleur Anderson also reacted, sending a letter to the UK Foreign Secretary.

Kearns, known for her engagement on BiH-related issues, emphasized in her response to the organization that she would like to see a stronger reaction from the international community, but that it is "blocked by countries like Hungary."
