(Patria) - At today's regular session of the Assembly of Brčko District of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the law on a special registry of persons convicted of sexual abuse and exploitation of children was adopted.
According to the Office of the Professional Service of the Assembly of Brčko District of BiH, the law was proposed by the Judicial Commission, and its president Ljubiša Lukić presented it on behalf of the Legislative Commission.
- With this law, Brčko District aligns its legislation with international obligations, especially with the Council of Europe conventions ratified by Bosnia and Herzegovina. The law establishes a special registry of finally convicted persons for sexual abuse and exploitation of children, enabling their more effective monitoring and preventing the possibility of their employment or engagement in jobs involving contact with children – stated Lukić.
In addition to the above, the representatives considered the Proposal of the Decision on Amendments to the Budget of Brčko District of BiH for 2025 and the Proposal of the Budget of Brčko District of BiH for 2026, as well as several information items submitted at the proposal of the deputies, the Office of the Professional Service of the Assembly of Brčko District of BiH points out.
At the beginning of the session, the deputies paid tribute to the victims of the fire that broke out in a retirement home in Tuzla, in which several people tragically lost their lives.
