Branković: I am surprised by the information about the indictment

The Department for Economic Crime of the Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor's Office has gathered enough evidence and filed an indictment against nine persons for the criminal offenses of concluding a harmful contract, aiding in the conclusion of a harmful contract, and negligent work in office, it has been confirmed for NAP from the KS Prosecutor's Office. The accused are suspected of causing damage of over 32 million KM to the companies Energopetrol and Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, related to the recapitalization process of Energopetrol d.d. Sarajevo.

Among the accused in the "Energopetrol" case are, as reported by the portal Klix.ba and confirmed by multiple sources, former Prime Minister of the FBiH Government Nedžad Branković, former director of "Energopetrol" Namik Bušatlić, Kasema Ćatović from the Recapitalization Commission from 2006, lawyer Ahmed Žilić, then legal consultant of the FBiH Privatization Agency, and a certain Kreso, but it has not yet been confirmed who exactly it is.

In a statement to the BiH news agency, Nedžad Branković said that he is more than surprised and that he cannot speak much about this case, as he does not yet know what he is accused of.

- I am very surprised, I can say that. I haven't seen the document and I can't talk about the details. But, at the time when the recapitalization agreement was made, I was a member of the FBiH Government in the position of Minister of Transport and Communications and I did not have departmental responsibilities. But, we will see what I am accused of – said Branković.
