
(Patria) - Representatives of the judicial institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina will meet with the Chief Prosecutor of the International Residual Mechanism for Criminal Tribunals in The Hague, Serge Brammertz, with whom they will discuss the issue of processing war crimes cases through regional cooperation.
The meeting will focus on the transfer of war crimes cases involving persons unavailable to the judiciaries of neighbouring countries, with the aim of resolving them more efficiently.
The meeting, organised within the project "Improving the Processing of War Crimes Cases in BiH", is scheduled to begin at 12:00 PM at a hotel in Sarajevo.
The project is implemented by the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council (HJPC) of BiH with the financial support of the EU.
The meeting will be attended on behalf of the HJPC by the President of the Council and Chair of the Supervisory Body for Monitoring the Revised National War Crimes Processing Strategy, Halil Lagumdžija, and the Acting President of the Court of BiH, Minka Kreho.
Also present will be the Chief Prosecutor of the Prosecutor's Office of BiH, Milanko Kajganić, the Deputy Chief Prosecutor, Ivan Matešić, and the Secretary of the Ministry of Justice in the Council of Ministers, Željko Bogut, as announced by the HJPC.
Following the meeting, at 2:00 PM, a meeting with representatives of war victims' associations in BiH on the same topic will also be held.
