(Patria) - Bosnia and Herzegovina's top karateka, Anes Bostandžić, missed out on a gold medal in the final of the prestigious Karate1 Premier League, held in Leshan, China.
In the grand final of the +84 kg category, Bostandžić faced Chilean fighter Rodrigo Rojas, who ultimately secured a narrow victory with a score of 8:7.
Both finalists displayed great fighting spirit, but in the end, the gold went to the Chilean, while the member of Karate Club Champion had to settle for silver, despite leading 7:5 until the very end of the match. Despite the loss, a silver medal at one of the strongest karate competitions in the world represents an exceptional achievement for Bostandžić and confirmation of his top form.
With this result, Anes has once again shown that he belongs to the very top of world karate and that Bosnia and Herzegovina has reason for optimism when it comes to this sport – said Bostandžić's coach, Denis Muhović, who, despite the defeat, emphasized that he is very proud of his protégé.
