Bosnian language expelled even from Srebrenica!

As of Thursday, September 17, Bosnian language has been abolished and the “ language of the Bosniak people” introduced in the “First Elementary School” in Srebrenica. In this school, until yesterday, Bosniak children regularly had a national group of subjects in their curriculum, writes the Patria News Agency.

The information was confirmed to Patria by the Mayor of Srebrenica Municipality, Ćamil Duraković, who stated that the School Board is meeting today and that this will not pass easily.

- This is fierce pressure on returnees, the final stage. In addition to a series of other strict repressions against returnees that have been carried out since the beginning of returns until today, the Election Law, census laws, cadastre, residency, now it is our children and our language that are on the line.

All of this is happening because the international community is mostly watching peacefully, wisely silent, just like the Bosniak politicians in the country who issue a statement and think they have finished their job.

Now we have hit a wall. With the latest pressure, they truly want to drive us away from our homes and from these areas forever. They are imposing the language they want on our children, politics is being reflected through our children, says Duraković.

He emphasizes that this is unprecedented discrimination and that the right to language is a right guaranteed by the Dayton Agreement and the Constitution of BiH.

- We call on all those who are still responsible for implementing peace in BiH to sanction the violators of Dayton, emphasizes the Mayor of Srebrenica.

In 10 municipalities in Republika Srpska, parents are refusing to send their children to school because the Ministry of Education does not allow the study of the national group of subjects and the Bosnian language. Now Srebrenica has also come into the picture.
