BOSANSKA KRUPA Husband stabbed wife in the neck, then himself in the stomach; child was present in the apartment

(Patria) - During the morning hours, the duty prosecutor of the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of the Una-Sana Canton was informed by the Police Station Bosanska Krupa that in a residential building in the immediate city center, an attempted femicide occurred.

As announced by the USK Prosecutor's Office, E.S. (1991) attempted to take the life of his wife F.B. (1996) by inflicting a stab wound with a cold weapon - a knife - to her neck.

"The suspect then inflicted injuries to himself with the same weapon in the abdominal area, which were characterized as minor bodily injuries by the duty doctor. Immediately before this event, the Police Station received an anonymous report from citizens about domestic violence," the statement said.

Immediately upon receiving the report, the duty prosecutor went to the scene where she supervised the investigation activities in order to undertake all urgent actions to collect evidence and clarify the circumstances under which the criminal offense was committed.

"According to information from the scene, at the time of the critical event, the couple's six-year-old child, E.S. and F.B., was present in the apartment and has been handed over to the jurisdiction of the Center for Social Work Bosanska Krupa," the statement added.

The suspect was arrested after being released from the Cantonal Hospital and will be handed over to the duty prosecutor, who will submit a proposal to the Cantonal Court in Bihać for the determination of pre-trial detention for the suspect.

According to the official records of the Prosecutor's Office, the suspect has been previously convicted for the criminal offenses of Violent Behavior and Fraud, while there were no cases for the criminal offense of Domestic Violence or other criminal offenses against his wife.
