Bosnians in the US send a powerful message ahead of the World Cup: 'They tried to erase us, the world will see us'

(Patria) - The Bosnia and Herzegovina national football team will certainly have great support from our fans at the upcoming World Cup.

A billboard with a very powerful message has been placed near Chicago.

"They tried to erase us. The world will see us. Bosnia and Herzegovina forever. For those who did not survive," reads the large billboard placed along one of the busiest highways in the Chicago area.

Behind the placement of this billboard are Bosnians and Herzegovinians gathered around the organization "Brotherhood of Bosnian Genocide Survivors".

"We wanted to mark this great moment for our homeland, but also to pay tribute to all victims of aggression and genocide who did not live to see Bosnia and Herzegovina on the world's biggest sports stage.

The message 'They tried to erase us. The world will see us' symbolizes survival, remembrance and pride. Despite all the suffering our people have endured, Bosnia and Herzegovina has survived and is today presented before the entire world.

The billboard is dedicated to those who did not survive, but also to the generations that continue to preserve the truth, identity and love for the homeland," said the organization "Brotherhood of Bosnian Genocide Survivors".
